For the thirteenth year, TRLA’s legal advocates joined staff from Texas domestic violence shelters and rape crisis centers to discuss the most effective ways to help low-income Texans in need.
Hosted at the Omni Colonnade in San Antonio, the 2013 Annual Domestic Violence & Sexual Assault Cross Training featured three days of networking, presentations, and learning opportunities on topics including recent legislative developments, protecting victims from criminal issues, and helping clients suffering from PTSD.
The conference concluded with a luncheon honoring thirteen private attorneys who have dedicated themselves to doing pro bono legal work for victims of domestic violence and sexual assault. At the luncheon, advocates also heard from Veronika, a central Texas survivor of domestic violence whose life was saved with the help of a local shelter and legal work from TRLA.
