Rio Grande Valley Students Spend Spring Break with Legal Aid

Instead of heading to the beach for their Spring Break, students from the South Texas College Paralegal Program joined Texas RioGrande Legal Aid (TRLA) to host a wills clinic in the Rio Grande Valley to benefit low-income Texans. The clinic was held Tuesday, March 10th in Edcouch, TX.

The students were joined by pro bono attorneys from the Hidalgo County Bar Association and fellow students from St. Mary’s University School of Law. As a result of their dedication, approximately 40 low-income residents of the Rio Grande Valley finalized their wills that evening.

This is the fifth wills clinic that students from South Texas College have volunteered at for TRLA.

More photos of the student volunteers at the event can be seen on the South Texas College Paralegal Program Facebook Page.
