10 Years Later: Reflecting on the Role that Legal Aid Played in the Katrina Recovery

Ten years ago this week, Hurricane Katrina made landfall in the United States. In the aftermath of the disaster, legal aid organizations across the country — including Texas RioGrande Legal Aid (TRLA) — worked tirelessly to provide assistance to displaced residents and help them with their legal issues.

This week we’ll be taking a look back at the role that legal aid played in helping with the recovery process, the organizations that provided support for our work, and the major litigation that was involved in ensuring that disaster victims got the assistance they needed to rebuild their lives.

We hope to join us in this reflection — on our blog, our Facebook page, and on Twitter.
