TRLA Staff Honored for Community Advocacy

Three Texas RioGrande Legal Aid (TRLA) staff members were recently honored by Proyecto Azteca, a nonprofit organization helping residents of colonias in the Rio Grande Valley, for their community advocacy on behalf of low-income Texans.

TRLA attorney Kelsey Snapp and Colonia Analysts Marlene Guerrero-Chavez and Margarita Morato were recognized on Thursday, December 3rd as part of Proyecto Azteca’s 2nd Annual A Home for the Holidays Fundraiser. The event featured a holiday celebration and silent auction aimed at helping the organization continue its work of helping low-income families fulfill their dreams of owning their own home. The three advocates were recognized for their dedication to educating residents of colonias on their legal rights and working with them to address pressing legal issues.
