Texas RioGrande Legal Aid (TRLA) and its Legal Aid for Survivors of Sexual Assault (LASSA) project are proud to join organizations throughout the state and #TurnTexasTeal during Sexual Assault Awareness and Prevention Month.
Nearly one in three Texans will experience sexual assault in their lifetime, with women being twice as likely to be victimized as men. Texas RioGrande Legal Aid (TRLA)’s Legal Aid for Survivors of Sexual Assault (LASSA) project is in full swing, confirming 4 partners in our new northwest service area and launching its new website this morning.
The LASSA project serves 182 Texas counties from the panhandle to the Texas-Mexico border. LASSA provides survivors of sexual assault with a wide-range of free legal services from general advice to holistic, direct representation on civil legal matters.

Texas RioGrande Legal Aid (TRLA) has partnered with the Bastrop County Bar Association and Volunteer Legal Services of Central Texas (VLS) to begin providing free monthly legal advice clinics to Bastrop-area residents.
The clinics will be held on the first Tuesday of each month during the school year. The first clinic will take place tonight, January 5th, from 4:15 to 6pm in the library of the Bastrop Intermediate School. Participants must sign in by 6pm to speak with an attorney. Continue reading
